inFusion Authenticator (iAuth) is a unique product line that enables you to easily authenticate users via easily coded application server templates. iAuth provides you with the ability to create and manage users in any way that suits your application.

iAuth is currently available for two web server platforms: Microsoft IIS and O'Reilly WebSite. There is also an authenticator available for Gordano NTMail email server.

How does iAuth for Web Servers work?

iAuth, when used as a web server authenticator, allows you to accept or reject users that want to gain access to protected areas of your web server. When a user tries to access a protected area the web server requests that iAuth determine the access rights of the user (iAuth is provided with the user name and password that the user entered into the standard web browser log in box). iAuth then uses the configured application server (ColdFusion, iHTML or Active State Perl) and requests that the application server execute a specific code template. The application server is provided with information that is used in the template to determine the rights of the user. The result from the template (accept or reject) is passed on to the web server which, in turn, allows or disallows access to the user.

How does iAuth for NTMail work?

iAuth, when used as an authenticator for Gordano NTMail, allows you to accept or reject users based on their log in information. Authentication facilities are provided to the POP, IMAP, SMTP and Webmail services or NTMail. Several system functions are configured via the application server template like pop accounts, mailbox locations, etc.
