inFusion Authenticator is an add-on DLL for O'Reilly Website and Website ProŽ. iAuth is the only authentication module that allows you to use the power of ColdFusion, iHTML or Active State Perl (ISAPI version) to authenticate users of your website. Easily coded iAuth templates allow you to protect any area of your website from unauthorized use. You can also configure iAuth to work with all of these scripting languages simultaneously! You can, therefore, allow webmasters to work with scripting languages that they are most comfortable with.
iAuth version 2.x is compatible with ColdFusion, iHTML and Active State Perl. iAuth should also be compatible with other ISAPI compliant DLLs as well (ASP is a known exception). If you would like to try iAuth with other ISAPI compliant DLLs and are willing to provide documentation and examples you may be offered a free copy of the software for your efforts (contact sales at sales@coolfusion.com). iAuth is now also compatible with Windows 95/98 web servers.
If you use ColdFusion with iAuth we have provided a turnkey application including all source code. The example includes many features in response to questions we have received about the product and how to accomplish various authentication features. Version 2.6 and higher now includes a built-in cache for maximum performance and is a free upgrade from version 2.0 or higher.
All ColdFusion, iHTML, Active Perl facilities are available to your iAuth templates. This being the case, you can:
1 - Authenticate a user based on a database query.
2 - Authenticate based on IP address (great for intranet applications). This will allow seamless integration as the intranet users would never see the login prompt!
3 - Authenticate based on time of day, date, etc. (using a query you can build date limits into your application).
4 - Integrate a timeout on user login (forced login).The iAuth distribution comes with the DLL, iAuth Console, documentation, and sample html files. If you want the demo turnkey application you need to download that separately below.
