Version 2.8 offers robust new features, including a completely new database-driven queue, that significantly increase server performance, and provide
exceptional throughput.

CONNECTION POOLING
iMS servers (including SMTP, Relay and POP3) now have an available connection pool (user-definable size from 0 to 100%) which allows
additional connections to a busy server to be queued until a busy connection is freed. This allows you to service more
connections and process more email without upgrading the number of threads in your existing iMS license. The connection pool may be configured up to
the current number of threads in your license.
REDESIGNED POST SERVER QUEUE
The iMS POST Server (mail sending engine) has a completely new, database-driven queue that offers:
- virtually unlimited mailing priorities (prior versions have 10)
- markedly faster startups and shutdowns
- connection (thread) reuse
- blazing-fast
mail delivery.
FLEXIBLE RETRIES
Retry times may, optionally, be specified for individual mailings. The retry timer specifies the number of minutes between retries if an email is not delivered during a particular attempt.
This new feature is especially useful for bulk mail applications where it may be beneficial to have the retry timer of bulk mail set higher than the retry timer of other types of email.

Customers with older versions may upgrade their licenses and install v2.8.
*Upgrades are seamless, all current server settings remain intact, and templates require no modifications.
